Exhibitions and Workshops

Photographing your Artwork
Visual artists and craftspeople continually need good quality photographic representation of their work to submit to galleries, curators, juries, funding agencies, and competitions. In addition, accurate photo documentation has become increasingly important for publications, web sites and promotional materials. This workshop includes information on camera and lighting equipment, digital file formats, editing, scanning and production skills, systems calibration, protocols for submission of work, along with image archiving and storage considerations. Instruction will also cover approaches to photographing both two- and three-dimensional works as well as art installations and gallery shots for exhibition documentation.

The ability to produce quality images is an important skill, and one that is relatively easy to learn. This is a half day session sponsored by CARFAC Saskatchewan, as part of their professional development series of workshops.  This session will introduce visual artists to the fundamentals of documenting their own artwork.
