The 2001 Internet Conference
In March of last year, The Internet for Artists, Craftspeople and Galleries drew over 100 people for a day long seminar in Saskatoon.  Presentations introduced participants to the technical side of the Internet, current activities on selling art and craft over the Web, and a variety of copyright issues.  This year's conference is both a revisiting and a follow-up to that gathering.

Feedback from the seminar indicated a diverse range of Internet experience and expertise within Saskatchewan's arts community.  It was clear from the discussion that there is much room for growth.

Many questions were generated by the presentation of the Art Vault, a major online art company which functioned a a consortium for a number of galleries across North America.  Issues raised included the effectiveness of selling art online, cross border sales, how a sale is actually made and advertising.  Copyright concerns generated an active discussion among participants.

This year's conference will attempt to address these issues as well as giving craftspeople and artists some perspectives and technical tools for incorporating the Internet into their communications and business practices.
